Greetings! The 24th annual New England Fathering Conference will be in Newport, Rhode Island on March 20th, 21st and 22nd, 2024! This year's conference theme is Healthy Fathers, Families and Communities.

Thank you to those of you who have registered and will be joining us in Newport in March. Hopefully others of you will be able to join us in March 2025 (details and location to be announced at this year's conference).

About the New England Fathering Conference

The New England Fathering Conference (NEFC) was initiated in Massachusetts in 1999 and was held there annually until the Planning Committee decided to rotate the event around the New England region every two years. We’ve continued hosting successful conferences in Connecticut (2008, 2009 and again in 2016 and 2017), Rhode Island (2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015) and Maine (2012 and 2013), each with 300-400 attendees and presenters from across New England and beyond! We then brought the conference to Springfield Massachusetts for 2018 and 2019, highlighting how our work with fathers supports the legacy they are creating for their children and celebrating our 20th annual event. In 2020, 2021, and 2022 COVID-19 prevented the NEFC from meeting in person, but our work continued online. In 2020, we offered a three-part webinar series for fatherhood professionals, in 2021, we offered eight workshops at four quarterly sessions to keep folks engaged, and in March 2022 we hosted an online conference (Opportunities for a New Beginning). In March 2023, we were very excited to return to Newport, Rhode Island where we sold out our 23rd annual conference. In March 2024 we will once again be in Newport, this year with the theme Healthy Fathers, Families and Communities.THE 2024 CONFERENCE IS SOLD OUT

KEYNOTE PRESENTERS

We are fortunate to have experts and leaders in the field of work with fathers, families and the systems that care for them to present

at our conference this year. Our keynote presenters are specially selected to speak on topics of importance to fathers

and graciously attend our conference to inform and inspire the agencies that work with them.

The New England Fathering Conference's 2024 Keynote Presenters:

Patrick Paterson

Patrick J. Patterson is President of Global Partners for Fathers and Families Consulting, LLC, a national consulting firm that equips schools, hospitals, Head Start, Healthy Start, public and private sector agencies with the tools to authentically serve fathers, men, boys, and their families.

Dr. Katie Pahigiannis

Dr. Pahigiannis is Lead Social Science Research Analyst and Team Leader for Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Research at the Administration for Children & Families Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE). Her work focuses on fatherhood, relationships, and equity, primarily in the context of Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood and Child Welfare programs.

Dr. Haner Hernández

Dr. Hernández is Puerto Rican, bilingual and has worked for over 35 years in the health and human service field developing, implementing, and evaluating culturally and linguistically intelligent youth and adult health prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support programs.
